Who is General Supply and Metals:
 General Supply began as an idea of Michael and Stanley Patys.  In   1947, the two brothers started the company to supply industrial   hardware and supplies to New Bedford businesses.

​ Initially located on the New Bedford waterfront on Middle Street; in   1967, General Supply moved to our current location at 47 Nauset   Street.

​ In 1969, General Supply incorporated as General Supply and Metals,   Inc.

 In 1982, John Patys expanded the vision of Mike and Stan and   General  Supply and Metals became a metals service center, built on   integrity and trust.

​ Today, GSM follows in the path of our founders and continues to   service Southeastern New England.
